Department of Civil Engineering was found in 1994. It offers courses at the B.Sc. and M.Sc. levels in the fields of earthquake engineering, structural engineering, Hydraulics engineering. The department has over 8 academic staff. Currently, over 400 students are pursuing undergraduate studies and approximately 100 students are studying Master of Science in the above-mentioned fields. Civil Engineering Department consists of three academic groups of Hydraulics, Structure and Earthquake Engineering. The teaching courses comprise lectures, tutorials, design, projects, seminars and laboratory works. The balance between the classical subjects and exposure to innovative thinking produces students who are respected and sought after in the country's construction industry such as roads, buildings, bridges, tunnels, reservoirs, water treatment and supply, as well as environmental aspects of these civil works.
